Gin No.1 is the gin that started FAR. Made by us, for us, and named without ceremony: the first gin we were proud to put our name on. It is built the way everything here is built, in two halves. A traditional copper pot still gives the backbone botanicals their structure, while a vacuum cold still captures the florals and brights that heat would flatten. The two are blended into one balanced, contemporary gin.

More than twenty-one botanicals go into the blend, drawn from a library of over one hundred catalogued distillates we keep at the distillery at 989 Hermitage Road, Pokolbin.

Nose: Fresh floral brightness. Lemon myrtle first, then chamomile, rose petal and lavender.
Palate: Poised and balanced. Strawberry gum sweetness with macadamia rounding out the texture.
Finish: Clean, with the gentle warmth of Tasmanian pepperberry.

Botanicals: More than 21, including lemon myrtle and strawberry gum (Australian natives), chamomile, rose petal and lavender, macadamia and Tasmanian pepperberry.

Serve: Light tonic, lots of ice, a wedge of fresh orange and a sprig of rosemary. Also happy poured neat over ice.
